About Us
Established in 1976, Sexton’s Chandlery has been serving northwest boaters for over 45 years. Q: What the heck is a “chandlery,” anyway? A: It’s an Old-World term for a store or merchant that sold materials, gear, equipment and supplies to sea-going ships. We are a locally owned, family-operated store located in the heart of Portland’s boating community on Hayden Island, one mile east of I-5, adjacent to Tomahawk Boat Works. Whether you need some last-minute items for a day on the river, or are doing routine maintenance, adding or replacing equipment or hardware, are doing minor repairs or full restorations, we’re here to supply your needs. Our goal is to make your boating experience safer, more comfortable, and fun! In addition to our large retail inventory and extensive special-order service, we have a used gear department filled with a large assortment of clean, organized used boating equipment and hardware for sale. We welcome good used boating gear and equipment, and antique/vintage marine and nautical items for consignment. If you are looking for a yard to work on or store your boat, Tomahawk Boat Works is one of the last remaining do-it -yourself boat yards in the area. Tomahawk Boat Works shares property with us, and is now owned and operated by McCuddy's Marine. see their contact information below. Contact Info: Sexton’s Chandlery, Inc.
